My baby girl made her arrival at 42 +2.
That morning I had gone in for an Acupunture appointment to help hopefully stimulate the start of labor then hubby and I went on a date to celebrate our anniversary.
At around 3pm I started noticing consistent surges and decided to head upstairs and lay in an exaggerated side lying position on each side for an hour and rest. I listened to my Christian Hypnobirthing app and thought about Jesus. Knowing that Christ suffered greatly for me on the cross I chose to welcome each surge to bring my baby into this world. I knew that because He did that for me I could do this for my baby girl and I chose to do it with joy and not fight it.
By 5pm the surges were very intense and I called for hubby who came upstairs. We labored in the bathroom together, showered together, had some intimate time laughing and kissing. He held me up through each surge as things started to get more intense. The sensations continued to get stronger and we called in my midwife and doula at around 6:30.
The surges were coming every 2-3 min at that point and were crashing over me like waves. I went through transition after calling them and started crawling on my bedroom floor and calling out to Jesus. I cried thinking I couldn’t do this but I felt the Lords presence reassure me I could get through this. I quickly snapped out of that mindset and then we went downstairs.
My doula arrived shortly after I came downstairs. Gabe started filling up the birth tub and my doula, Rayne, held me through each intense wave and praised Jesus with me.
My midwife arrived around 730 and started helping fill the tub. I labored in the kitchen while they were filling the tub and held onto Rayne every contraction and she reassured me of the Lord’s presence and reminded me to breathe slowly. At that point I was very vocal during every contraction and grunting with the peak of it. I felt baby shifting down and felt my hips moving to make space for her.
At 8pm I felt my water break and slowly started to leak on the floor. I knew baby was close and wanted to get into the water. The tub was finally ready and so I slowly walked to the tub and got in at 805.
As soon as I got into the tub I entered an altered state of consciousness and I didn’t feel any more pain. I stopped making noise completely and each surge felt so good as my body started to push. I felt absolute peace and comfort from the Lord as my body started moving her down with just me breathing slowly.
Everyone was busy doing things because they thought I was resting and then my midwife looked into the tub and saw my baby coming out and said “oh baby baby baby!!!” . She was born at 820pmjust 20 minutes after my water broke. My midwife later told me she came out like a bullet.
After she came out I instinctively reached down and brought her to my chest and Jesus brought me back into this world and I fully realized she was here.

It was the closest I have ever felt to God and the most surreal experience of my life. I legit want to give birth every day like that.

My placenta was born about 10 minutes after baby. I brought it up out of the water and gave it to my midwife who put it in a bowl for me. Then my sweet midwife wished my husband and I a happy anniversary and gave me a kiss.
I truly believe that Jesus delivered me from feeling any pain during the final stage of birthing my baby. I felt His presence so clearly and fully and only felt peace while she was descending and crowning.
Baby girl was 7.9 pounds, 21 inches, with a marginal cord insertion and I was given the diagnosis of oligohydroamnios earlier in the week. All a testament to the Lord and proof that the system over medicalizes things that don’t need intervention.
